I thought you would have some interesting comment. I think you are right, that you do reach a plateau where you don't want=20 more light. I think we have been there maybe last 20 years. I think there is room for better design luminaries with tubes. I=20 personally have never fitted diffusers on tubes as they are already 100s=20 of times more diffuse than halogens and more diffuse (spread out) than CFLs= .. Though more people are lighting up outside with 200W to 1000W of=20 halogen, high pressure or sodium lighting all night.
