Here's a nod to the cheapest PCB prototyping option I've yet seen: http://dorkbotpdx.org/wiki/pcb_order One of the members of the Portland (Oregon, USA) Dorkbot group organizes a panelized PCB order a couple of times a month. He panelizes your design for you, sends it off to a board house (the house varies based on quotes), then depanelizes them and sends them out. Turnaround time is about two weeks, from him ordering to you having boards in hand. Price is $5US per square inch of board size. For that price, you get three copies (i.e., a board 1 inch (25mm) to a side costs $5, and you get three of them). Shipping inside the US is included, and he does a flat rate to foreign addresses. He's looking for more contributors, and he's got a panel going out in a couple of days which is underfilled.
