Application is a remote residential water meter. The meter has a reed=20
switch, 1 closure per gallon. We want to switch water sources after 2000=20
gallons use/month. Pic will have interrupt for the switch, then=20
increment counters, one for since reset, and other matches the official=20
meter readings so we can compare with billing. The LCD display will have=20
both meter readings, today's date, and date that the meter was reset. As=20
a option, considering, a 4 x 20 display, a 40 pin PIC, and add double=20
high numbers the current time. 3 buttons to set time. Would use=20
resistors with  ADC for all resistors. Probable RS-485 to set time/date=20
regularly from a PLC. And a warning LED. At the moment, trying to learn=20
and get some experience with the LCD. Then I'll get into Bit Bang the=20
RS-485. But I read in the 18F1320 manual, something about being able to=20
move the EUSART  pin to another pin. But that's another topic for=20
another day. I have done other 18F1320 with ADC, fiber optic serial with=20
no problems. But that was with a stand alone programmer. Yes the main=20
thing is the LCD. :)
