I suggest that people who wish to reply to a thread make the, in most cases, very minor effort to skim through subsequent related posts to see if there is anything that has already been said that makes what they had been going to say superfluous, or just plain incorrect. If one's email client makes such an action difficult then one may be using the wrong client. As an excellent example of what typically happens, in this case the two posts immediately following the one being replied to contained cash offers for some of the parts. While the sum offered was modest it demonstrates that the parts were either not considered junk, or perhaps junk worth paying for (which is not really junk as normally understood). . To suggest about 20 hours later that the OP should give the parts away suggests a lack of reading ahead. The trouble is that we then get the wholly predictable "is junk" / isn't junk" / "army boots fish moon oak leaves diamonds' fanfare, which on occasion has a remarkably long lifetime. If this was a "oncer" then my adding this post just adds to the noise. As, however, this is quite a regular occurrence it will hopefully prove worthwhile. One can hope :-). A little netiquette can go a long way, sometimes. ____________ Today while rummaging in my workshop I was surprised to discover ceramic and gold 12C508JW, with it's EPROM suitably displayed for all the world to see. I don't recall ever having used one, so how it came into my possession I don't know. It looks like the sort of junk that would go nicely in the midst of some sort of artwork. As the EPROM is the centrepiece of the (admittedly small) visual treat I'd first have to add some UV opaque material to the window though:-).
