But TI claims that they will do FRAM versions =20 of MSP430 "soon" (some of that is for RAM replacement, since you'd =20 have zero-power data retention), and RAMTRON already has FRAM 8051s. =20 I haven't heard of other microcontroller vendors voice any strong =20 plans to replace flash "in the near term." Bulk storage (your 16GB SD cards, SSD drives, and similar) is a =20 separate question... From a design point of view, I figure SD is a good interface; =20 whatever comes out will be usable, and I'm insulated from the details =20 by a smart controller.
