Requiring a bandage around your finger (even without stitches) around here is a notifiable accident (i.e. needs to go in the companies accident log). So getting an injury from the saw stop is still an accident, not an accident avoided. It is 'just' a potentially less severe accident than may have otherwise happened. That is why the saw guard will still be required.
