My reaction is why didn't they fit double the number of solar cells? They could have around the that shape, even if they had to tweak the narrow end of the shape slightly to get them to fit snugly. This would surely allow a much better charge each day (you would get one fully illuminated and two part illuminated or four part illuminated, instead of one fully illuminated or two part illuminated, at any given point), and I doubt it would adjust the price that much. While the 'base' looking like the screw in base of a standard light bulb is 'cutesy' and nicely holds the off/on button and hanging loop, I am not sure that it couldn't have been better designed for the purpose. Knowing the way American law works towards the dumbest IQ (no offence meant for the citizens of said country) I am surprised there hasn't been a thought along the lines of 'won't someone attempt to put this in a light socket' when looking to do product liability mitigation in the design meetings. What is the product market for this? Is it American BBQ outdoors lighting, or is it African outback bush lighting (competing with Russells torch)? Maybe I have been watching 'The Apprentice' for too many years (Junior Apprentice has just finished here in the UK). ;))) -- Scanned by iCritical. -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
