About half the current density allowed here http://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm they prorate about linearly BUT for butied cables the figures will be lower due to temperature rise. That mass per meter is about 3.5 x the mass of copper involved. Seems like there is a lot of other material there as well. Maybe armour ? :-).
