Pick and place is a machine process, but some machines are more automated than others, and can hold more reels at the same time than others. We have some assemblers around here that do a lot of manual work. It costs a lot more per board than one extra board of a pick and place run, but if you only want 3 prototypes there isn't a lot of choice. One place around here is called Rapid Board, and they do only manual work. We use them a lot for our prototypes. Another place has a pick and place machine but does a lot of manual work too, depending on the job volume. Once you start looking, you find a lot of local assemblers that cover the spectrum of the manual to automatic mix. ******************************************************************** Embed Inc, Littleton Massachusetts, http://www.embedinc.com/products (978) 742-9014.
