Does anyone know what happens if you put a LM2940 LDO regulator (In- 
GND-out) in a PCB designed for a MC33269D (Gnd-out-in) ?  Apparently  
reports say that voltage on the output rises to 7V or so; I guess the  
big question is whether the current is limited to a value that might  
leave other components (an AVR) undamaged, or whether we can assume  
that everything is toast...
