Maybe Atmel has the smallest case but PIC 10F200 is not far behind, available in
2x3(x1) mm DFN, and that has been true for a while now. Please try to read
between the marketing hype lines...

A more interesting question would be, do people here build their own micro bed
of nails to program these things in circuit? I did build some custom bed of
nails for programming years ago when tolerances were not as low as now.
