In other words, let's say I buy model XYZ123 blender, marked as made by Proctor, at a small store for $50. I then go to Walmart and buy a blender in an identical-looking box for $30. If you look closely, sometimes you will see that it is model XYZ123W (W for Walmart) and it will actually be made to a much inferior quality standard but look almost exactly the same on the outside. Again, this is hearsay and I have not tried to determine whether it is true, although I've been told this by trusted friends - I'd be curious if anyone here has had such an experience.
