If you have a fixed location in mind then a fixed link is worth considering. Depending on terrain you can do this with WiFi with 1 or a few hops and varying legality. - Ham RF link sounds easy and eminently doable. - Shortish distance WiFi links to other houses etc with internet connectivity and hopefully a different network etc may provide security from diversity. - Hidden cameras can be cheap and hard to find. Using a logging multichannel recorder hidden somewhere unfindable gives a record. Use of a short range WiFi link for this to a neighbour would be easyish. - Signs proclaiming hidden cameras and radio links may be a deterrent or a spur. - WiFi link to a location with cellphone coverage may be an easy solution. - Distances of km can be obtained with modest parabolas and semi serious one - 1 to 2 metre diameter can give great range. - Rottweiller, Doberman, Alsatian, Chihuahua, ... - Bren, Sten, Claymore, Semtex, .. - ED-209 ** - HV, EHT, ... - Capsicum powder dispersal on alarm triggering. - CN, NH4OH*, ... - VERY VERY VERY loud alarms are sometimes intentionally used for area denial. ... * would probably work a treat for area denial.
