Not so much union-infested thou.

My experience has also been that big companies tend to suck the life out of
their employees and the companies they take over.  I think this is law in
some countries.

I have also met some engineers (and scientists) that I would definitely not
let near a soldering iron and many engineers would argue that it is best to
leave soldering to the soldering experienced techs.
