Don't use that PIC.  If you want to get a few 40 pin DIP PICs for hobby use,
get the 18F4620.  That's one of the successors to the 18F452, and does have
a internal oscillator.

Personally I think the 40 pin DIP package is very klunky and a pain to use.
I would get a handful of 18F2620 for general hobby use.  These have 28 pins
with the DIP package .3" wide, but are otherwise the same part as the
18F4620.
