Note that the failure of Next is largely ignored, but was a case where Jobs got it wrong. The educational market, which is what Next was trying to go after, is very price sensitive. That market has no money to pay for fashion, so Jobs' hype didn't go very far. For hype to work, you need stupid people with money. Stupid people are everywhere, but not always with money.
