How many people have told you to do something on the Vlcd pin, and you
still have nothing?

I gave you a pretty good explanation of a way to get going with just a
resistor. Did you read it? Didn't believe it?

You'll continue to get nothing until you do something to that pin.

Afterward, you will at least see something, even if it's little gray
rectangles. Unless you've blown the LCD.
