Which reminds me ... :-) In similar vein. The NZ local Ratshack equivalent =3D Dick Smith Electronics has some sockets that will accept a typical multimeter test probe point. The other end is a solder tag with hole. They also have=A0 a threaded body with nut for panel mounting, but I use this feature less often. I have some double ended plug-leads of a size that plug into plug-in breadboards. =A0Cut one such lead in two and solder two resultant leads to two of the meter probe sockets and you have leads which allow easy connection/disconnection of meter probes to breadboards - leave sockets plugged into breadboard and insert or remove meters as desired. Mix and match socket colours and lead colours and you can almost work out which meter leads are connected to where when you have 4/8/18 meters connected. (Well, MAYBE not ever 16, certainly 8). And - if project is all on a lift up board (as some are ans some aren't) the meters can be removed and project stored on a shelf and then easily re-metered when desired. However, 1.=A0 The local supplier charges far more for these than they obviously cost to make. 2. They are rapidly moving out of the component supply business and very soon if not already these will no longer be available. Does anyone know a source of meter probe insertable sockets that would fill this application? I'd probably buy 100 + of these if the price was right. They seem to have legs and a strong ability to hide so I'm constantly enriching the supplier and soon may find I am unable to maintain my habit. =A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0 Russell -- = http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
