Byron, can you please explain that last comment.
I hope it doesn't mean what it could mean.

*IF* it means using the clamping diodes in conduction mode during
device operation:

1. Could this not be bypassed by the use of small Schottky diode per
relevant pin at minimal extra cost?

2. What sort of currents are involved?.

(1-10 uA = probably OK)
(10-100 = getting risky).
(100+ = DTTAH)
