If you send me a private message, I will try to reply with a DWG attached, it's 101KB in size, and a schematic for a PIC system. It has both raster and vector, many layers, colors, etc. Google for ACAD sample drawings, there are many simple symbol drawings there that are normally inserted, rather than make your own symbols. They include transformers, diodes, resistors, etc. for electronics, but there are many other specialties out there. The symbols are normally inserted as what is known as a "block".
