Microsoft Word and Excel help files would be a prime example. Try searching the Excel help file for a given operation, and most of the time you get sent on a goose chase. Often I found the only way to find out how to do something was to record a macro as i did some operations, or if that didn't work, post a message on the Microsoft Excel news group, and typically one or more of the MVPs found there would have an answer. How they ever found out what to do I have never found out. Then having entered the code in the VBA window, pressing F1 brings up the info that the help system should have found in the first place. If the documentation doesn't suck, the indexing into it most certainly does. -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
