You can't prove something subjective, but I agree with Gerhard that the documentation about CMD sucks. The details are there, maybe, but they are very difficult to find. It's scattered in a bunch of help files in with a lot of other unrelated stuff. As far as I know, there is no intro and overview to CMD. On the other hand, some other Microsoft documentation is actually quite good, such as the MSDN library. There generally are useful overview pages per subsytem, followed by the detailed descriptions. Their app documentation still sucks though. Have you ever tried to read thru the "manual" for Excell, for example. You can't really. It's sometimes useful for looking up specific things when you know what to ask, but that all-important overview and intro is apparently missing again. The Word documentation has gone backwards. Back when I wrote a book with Word in the mid 1990s, it was actually organized as a book you could read thru. It explained how Word generally works and what was possible. Now that seems to be gone with only the Word for Idiots instant help instead. Yucc. I use Word a lot less now. ******************************************************************** Embed Inc, Littleton Massachusetts, http://www.embedinc.com/products (978) 742-9014.
