Ah! IF partitor is a resistive divider then you can. - Connect one transformer leg to Vdd. - Connect other leg to top of divider. - Discard diode - Connect PIC ADC input to divider "tap". You now have my scheme, always positive, full cycle. Minimum is above ground and positive below Vdd when divider is set correctl= y. (See prior decription).
