Hi guys, I've seen these nifty little RGB LED arrays on Sparkfun's website... http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=3D683 Basically they're 3-inch square, 8x8 (64 spots), RGB LED panels. A bit = on the expensive side (hey, this is Sparkfun we're talking about) but = available cheaper through the "Internet's Tat Bazaar" (ebay) -- about = =A375 for ten if you want round dots, or =A395 if you want square dots. Thing is, they're a little big for my taste, not to mention expensive. I = can live with "big", but I wanted to put together a 160x144 pixel RGB = display for a project. That's a 20x18 array of these things, which comes = out to =A32700 for the LEDs (360 arrays at =A375 each), and a total size of = 4ft by 3.5ft... which is "just a bit" big for my taste. Does anyone know of a supplier of similar modules that are: A) cheaper B) smaller, or C) (ideally) both? I'd rather like to get 5 or 10 to play around with to start with (I've = got an Evil Plan that involves using Ethernet cable, LVDS signalling and = a couple of Altera FPGAs to drive a panel of these displays in a way not = dissimilar to that employed in low-res monochrome LCD panels).
