This is the cheapest($5), lowest power graphic LCD I know of: http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=8629 They are pretty popular in the PIC/AVR hobby community. Sparkfun sells it with the plastic frame but that's just clipped on. 3.3V only but it's just a few wires to drive it so a few resistors does the trick if your logic is 5V. Mating connectors are not really available but I have had no problem soldering straight to them.
