For all intents and purposes buyers are no longer rateable: ---------- Sellers can leave only positive ratings for buyers. That means buyers should feel free to leave honest Feedback without fear of retaliation. We also have safeguards in place to protect sellers against unfair negative or neutral Feedback. ---------- From http://pages.ebay.com/services/forum/feedback.html This is/was a highly contentious issue when first introduced, but eBay has not backed down from it. > 2) =A0eBay calculated the cost to ship the item I sold at $9.97. =A0When I > showed up at UPS to ship the item , I was charged $16.00. =A0Do those of > you on the list who use eBay run into this problem ? Before I list, I check the shipping rates on the online shipper's calculator and verify that eBay is calculating correctly. I do very little selling (got burned pretty badly once selling a large, expensive item) but I suppose if I did more I'd learn the weaknesses of eBay's shipping calculator, and work around them.
