I have used a product from nsoftware (www.nsoftware.com) called IP*Works to= do automated FTP stuff from a VBScript. The Filemailer component of their IP*works Toolkit looks like it could be u= sed to do what you want. I have had good luck with their products in the past. = You can also use Javascript to drive their software IIRC. Its not free (about $700). If you want something cheaper Google around for ActiveX/COM controls for e-mail. You might find a shareware type of product. I've also seen various mailer programs some of which might be command-line callable. Search for "sourceforge mailer" and you'll get hits on several fr= ee open source products that are likely to be command line drivable. There are= lots of Unix-types contributing to SourceForge projects and command line operati= on is generally important to them. -----Original Message----- From: piclist-bounces@mit.edu [mailto:piclist-bounces@mit.edu] On Behalf Of Russell McMahon Sent: Tuesday, March 02, 2010 5:25 AM To: Microcontroller discussion list - Public. Subject: [OT]:: emailing files from outer darkness / aka DOS box. I want to send files by email from a "DOS box" in Windows - XP, Vista, WIN2000, ... . Ideally from the command line or batch file or script. Batch file or DOS level commands which can be accessed via DOS calls from a steam driven application would be most desirable. Any amount of high level arcanery exists to do this - I'd like some low level arcanery. Ideally I want a system process that takes a directory of files and sends them one per message with a subject line to a specified location by email. (Subject line becomes a website photo title. Destination address sets folder & album they appear in). 1st glance suggested Telnet was up to the task. 2nd glance that it wasn't - ie file transfer is not a Telnet capability and variants that do have add ons. Misc Gargoyling produces no obvious solutions. Any suggestions welcome. =A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0 Russell -- = http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist -- = http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
