> "There are no stupid questions" > > Is this really true? "stupid" is relative to the reader's knowledge. After all, it's the reader doing the labelling "Will it kill my PIC if I run it at 8V ?" Most, hopefully all, would regard that as a "stupid" question. Even if many readers don't know the exact limits, they'd consider a PIC as a 5V part and 8V just sounds way too high Answers would range from "No no no, don't do that" through "RTFM" to a wicked "try a few and let us know" "Will it kill my PIC if I run it at Vcc max + 1% ?" Unfamiliar territory for most users. Instinctively they know it's probably not a good idea but it might just work (selectively) "Do not use this hairdryer in the shower", "Death By Misadventure" verdicts, drink driving, Darwin Awards, the list is endless for what is considered "stupid" by general consensus But there's "stupid is" vs "stupid does". A person may do stupid things or ask stupid questions for all kinds of reasons. If they are of low IQ or poor education you might cut them some slack but an intelligent person who's question is "stupid" because they are lazy is something else > What if they do it over and over? Oh, that's just being stupid........ ;-) I think you know the answer(s) to that wbr -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
