Note that, while you need to do more than usual due diligence on Chinese products, it is a nation that can and does send men to orbit, and provides satellite launch services. Anyone who can build orbital launchers, which necessarily work on safety margins so slim they would be illegal in any domestic applications, has some very very good engineering capabilities available. And, while you can buy utter junk in bearings and anything else from Chinese sources, they also make amongst the very very best, when it suits. In many cases this may be "under licence" using seed technology from elsewhere, but the sleeping giant has long since quit sleeping. In my childhood years "made in Japan" carried implications of quality even lower than what you may typically expect of run of the mill Chinese domestic products. Consider what that label means now. Give them not too many years at all and their very best will be superb and their good will be very good indeed.
