No, you're doing it wrong!

By lots and lots of licenses in advance. Become his biggest client (miles 
ahead of anyone else) so that you owe him mind boggling amounts. This 
pumps up his worth (on paper). Then plead poverty and threaten to default 
(which would financially break him) and ask him for a loan. Hey presto - 
he's paying you to use his stuff :-)

Now where have I seen this done before?
