Dead-bugging still has it's place. I've been known to use "ugly construction" or variants of "Manhattan" construction for quick prototypes. Most notably a thermocouple amp I built up to test a Maxim thermocouple controller chip (MAX6675? the one with the built in cold-junction compensator, A/D and SPI interface). Good fun for making little modules to hook up on a breadboard, but utterly hopeless for anything remotely complex... -- Phil. piclist@philpem.me.uk http://www.philpem.me.uk/ -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
