Actually I think the better solution is for all hosting companies to withdraw from Italy immediately, citing that the cost of compliance with Italian law far exceeds any profit they can make there. I imagine Google can live pretty well without Italy, but Italian citizens would have a thing or two to say to their government when nobody wants to host their web sites.
