BTW, as your resistor size comes down, so does its power-handling capability, so you need to start thinking about this every where you substitute through-hole components for SMT components. As a start, I highly recommend using 1206 first, and maybe get a few 0805's (just to see if you can do them). You can put 0805's on the same pads setup for 1206's for now.
