A little over one month ago , I saw a Design Idea in EDN magazine that  
described how to calculate values that could be fed to a DAC which  
would result in a sinusoidal output.  The URL is http://www.edn.com/article/CA6713709.html 
  .   I tried to validate the technique using an excel spreadsheet.

a steady state sinusoid.

The author of the design note has not been able to enlighten me as to  
what went wrong.  Perhaps someone on the PIClist can give me a push in  
the right direction.  Did I mess up the calculations I used in the  
Excel spreadsheet ?   I started dabbling with Z transforms to see if I  
could derive the proper algorithm.  I quickly determined I was very  
rusty with regard to Z transforms.
