PM3 has also other advantages like more chip supports, memory card, support by Microchip, integrated into MPLAB, etc. And to me the cost of Microchip tools are worth the money if it is for commercial project and I do not need to look at 3rd party ones. For personal use, PICkit 2 is good enough for me. BTW, IMHO the box of USBProg 2 looks not very professional.
