For some jig saws, Bosch for one, blades are available with teeth pointing either, or pointed straight up in a neutral position. Also blades with an abrasive cutting edge are available. Generally the rule for saw tooth spacing is 3 teeth in contact with work at one time. Slow steady feed rates are good too. The hole in the table should be very minimal, just enough to get the blade through, then the piece will be less likely to catch, bow, and jamb to the blade. It would also be possible to provide something (little roller ??) from above to hold the piece down. Brooke Clarke wrote: > Hi John: > > I went through two jigsaws with metal blades.
