I have the scanning sensor from a flatbed and was trying to figure out how to interface it to a PIC to play around. It's not one of the older CCD ones with a couple of dozen pins on a circuit board with some controller logic. The CCD(?) element is placed right on a long circuit board and only has 7 pins hooked to it. Five more control a tri-color led on one end. Any idea how this works? I'm almost more curious on how it's hooked up than trying to do anything with it. Does it work like a normal CCD with a pixel clock? Im not sure how that would work without any visible circuitry. http://www.ian.org/Remote/CLD-12216S-Front.jpg http://www.ian.org/Remote/CLD-12216S-Back.jpg http://www.ian.org/Remote/CLD-12216S-Closeup.jpg Sorta related question. Is there a more appropriate mailing list or forum for this sort of thing? Not a complaint. I love the PIClist and though I mostly lurk, the times I needed help have always been good experiences.
