I have some relevant experience with ISM modules from different vendors, and I can tell you 500m with 10mW LOS is very optimistic. You may get that but you will need a lot of effort on a good directional antenna both sides, and low bit rate. If you really need 500m with 10mW think better on 433mhz which propagates way better than 2.4ghz. 2010/2/3 Vitaliy > John Hansen wrote: > > With a 7dBm power output (~5 mw) the range is not going to be very far! > > Sparkfun claims 500 m range w/ 10 mW output: > > http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=155 > > Vitaliy > > -- > http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive > View/change your membership options at > http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist > -- Ariel Rocholl Madrid, Spain -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
