I have some relevant experience with ISM modules from different vendors, and
I can tell you 500m with 10mW LOS is very optimistic. You may get that but
you will need a lot of effort on a good directional antenna both sides, and
low bit rate. If you really need 500m with 10mW think better on 433mhz which
propagates way better than 2.4ghz.
