They are all MT1-MT2-GATE as viewed from the front, pins down, left to right. Your gate drive is referenced to MT1. Lots of triacs will have an inbuilt pinchoff resistor from Gate to MT1. But if not you should be able to see a junction there. Unless what you have is actually a quadrac, not a triac, in which case there is a diac in series with the gate and you will see essentially open on the gate.
