:: ny recommendation for PCB layout tools?

You might want to check out i-Dex  it's a dot net built - still in 
beta at this moment but about to go live!  It is the latest version of 
AutotraxEDA which is still available.

It doesn't have an in built autorouter though, but the horrendously 
expensive Electra can be interfaced to it.
