I second this recommendation... I bought one nearly 3? years ago, didn't use it once until 2 weeks ago, but for debugging my newbie crude (and that's being generous) VHDL it has been great. Does CAN, I2C, SPI, serial. I've only used the SPI. The configuration of what signal is what, special ignore-first-bit type things, and the display format is pretty flexible. I can see how it would be useful for firmware debugging of serial rx/tx and other miscellany. For FPGA work it is a must-have.
