In bigger cities like Singapore (or Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, etc), majority of the people live in high-rise buildings. So even if you put Solar panels all over the roofs, it probably is not good enough. ;-) Many people here us electricity powered heater. I used to have a gas powered heater but it was broken.
