For reasons I don't fully understand, you apparently can't sell diesel cars in Ca. It's not based on actual pollution statistics or anything, as far as I can tell. Just "no diesel." (I'd think any turbine would out-perform a piston-based diesel anyway? Something capable of being fueled by either gasoline or propane might be particularly attractive. Propane/LNG is somewhat cheaper and more politically correct than gasoline, and apparently have similar energy content per gallon.)
