People have pointed out that this announcement, and the many web sources
that discuss it, have not done a good job of explaining in simple terms what
the properties of the new material are that make it of such great interest
or potential value.

I and others would be much interested in a simple explanation and you may
wish to consider updating your press release accordingly.

I assume that the main gain is that your lab have demonstrated how to
reproduce on a macro scale properties which have long been observed on a
micro scale, and that the material can be scaled up with standard industrial
production methods to utilise these attributes at any sensibly large scale
as required.
