Hi all. For the prototype of the project I'm working on we need a compact 24V battery. Ultimately we will likely use an electric bike battery, but to save costs on the proto I'd like to use a compact sealed lead acid battery. The 12V 7AH battery that is commonly used as backups in alarm systems seems to be a good size. I need a bit of advice on the charging though. 1. Can I connect two batteries in series to get 24V for the operation of the device, then use a 24V charger? Or will I have to disconnect them and charge them separately? 2. If I understand this correctly, I should be charging these guys at somewhere between 700mA to 2A. Is that correct? 3. If 24V charging is ok, what about this charger: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=102-1956-ND or would I want to go with something with a higher current like this: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=271-2391-ND ? Thanks!
