Sometimes I use this technique in car park if it's snowy -- not like that guy on that video though, and definitely not at 30mph :-) You have to drive at relatively slow to be safe, on snow you will make the turn anyway. Like try that first at 5mph and see how far your car skids that way, then you might want to increase the speed as you get some confidence. Turn the wheel slowly so the car starts the turn, then you apply full hand break in a sudden. But keep your thumb on the button of the hand break, do not let it to locking! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handbrake_turn You also can try power turning if your car is rear wheel driven -- so while you start the turn press the accelerator firmly and let the wheel spinning (drifting in more popular name, but this name for me means burning the tyres not for using fast corners). You can use the clutch to initiate the torque needed to loose the traction. Also you can press two and even three pedals at the same time if you really want to learn this: Typical is to use left foot for break, right for accelerator, but be careful with left foot, if that got used to the clutch most probably you will apply full 'emergency' break first time you do that. The idea is that the break force is bigger on the front wheel, so it breaks it more while with the accelerator you manage to spin the rear wheel. Also you have much faster break-acceleration sequence when using two feet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left-foot_braking A little bit more advanced if you use right foot for break and accelerator -- heel is on the break pedal, toe is on the accelerator. More or less same advantage with the speed of the break-acceleration sequence, while you can even change gear as the left foot can handle the clutch. You have to use this technique if you do double clutching. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heel-and-toe Tamas > -- > Martin K. > -- > http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive > View/change your membership options at > http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist > -- int main() { char *a,*s,*q; printf(s=" int main() { char *a,*s,*q; printf(s=%s%s%s, q=%s%s%s%s,s,q,q,a=%s%s%s%s,q,q,q,a,a,q); }", q="\"",s,q,q,a="\\",q,q,q,a,a,q); } -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
