That's true, however, the first time you need emergency braking does not necessarily mean you will have an accident :-) Also you should learn emergency breaking while learning to drive, so you should know how does it feel when skidding. As far as I concern they even do this on the practical tests, at least in the UK and here in Ireland -- I did not do that in Hungary as far as I remember. You still need years of experience till you confident with proper emergency braking, and till then you most probably will have many situations when you coming out of the situation without anything happened -- except the breaking.
