I don't have time to take everything apart. But, from what I have seen, both of which seems working fine on my laptops, which requires about 80W AC power for continuous operation. One thing should be aware is: the operation temp, both require "0C to 40C environment temp". In the winter, you may want to wait a while until the cab is warm enough (>0C) to turn these things on. Otherwise, it simply won't work at <0C environment. Some quick test shows, it output 90VAC at no load, about 100VAC at 80W output. The fan only turns on when there is loads on the unit, the fan is strong and loud. Actual brand may change, the one I got has a brand name of "Eliminator" but they all have the same part number at local store. I like the idea to have two sets of power cable, if you need more power, wire the unit directly to the battery. Please always keep in mind, don't put too many devices on the AC output in case your car fuse cannot afford the DC loads. Funny N. IIRC, Xpower traces back to Xantrex who bought everybody in the inverter business- Trace, Statpower etc. Any idea of the build quality? However due to limit of vehicle wiring and fusing, it only recommend max. 100W when using cigarette lighter. For more than 100W, it is recommended wiring directly to the battery. (Which is why it provides two sets of hook-up wiring.) > > Some of the vehicle using "15A to 20A fuse" for cigarette lighter, that will put a limit on the converter. Especially some Japanese cars, they use the same fuse for cigarette lighter and audio system. You better turn off your CD/Radio when that is the case. > > Funny N. > Au Group Electronics, http://www.AuElectronics.com > http://www.AuElectronics.com/products > http://augroups.blogspot.com/ > > > > > ________________________________ > From: Jonathan Hallameyer > To: Microcontroller discussion list - Public. > Sent: Mon, November 23, 2009 2:41:25 AM > Subject: Re: [EE]Good deals on DC AC inverters. > > Note that that is peak, not constant.
