That only tells you the ratio between the distance between camera and building to the distance between camera and plane. The planes apparent size is about 3 stories which a quick search tells me is about 9m. another quick search tells me a f18s wingspan is about 13.5 meters. This would indicate that the distance between camera and plane was about 1.5 times the distance between camera and building. So to figure out the actual distance you need to know how far the camera was from the building, wouter says that this may be possible from other abberations in the image. I've no idea how to calculate this but the lines look very straight to me (I think the big vertical through the building is within a couple of pixels of being dead straight)which would indicate that this picture was taken from a considerable distance. -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
