Basically the same as Dwayne wrote.

Only I'm using the darlington, with some 470ohm at its base. And a 
frequency of around 200Hz-1KHz.

In the end, it's an heritage from a NE555 circuit driving a brush 
(glass-wiper) motor @12Vcc, in the 70s and 80s :)
